About Us
Therapy Rooted in Connection, Understanding, and Growth
Maddie Cox Therapy
Relationships are at the center of our lives. Whether with a partner, parent, child, friend, or colleague, we often know how we want to show up—but in moments of stress, conflict, or uncertainty, emotions can take over and pull us away from our intentions.
My approach to therapy helps clients understand the patterns, roles, and automatic reactions that shape their relationships and daily lives. Together, we explore how your family history, relationships, and life experiences influence the way you think, feel, and respond. By developing greater awareness of these patterns, you can learn to respond with more clarity, flexibility, and intention.
Grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory, my work focuses on helping individuals strengthen their ability to balance emotion and intellect, navigate relationship challenges, and function more effectively within the important systems of their lives. I view therapy as a collaborative process that fosters deeper self-understanding, increased resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.
I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in private practice, school settings, and both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric environments. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from The Catholic University of America and continue advanced postgraduate training at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family. I also serve as a council member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Leadership Council for Psychiatry, supporting efforts to advance mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to quality care.
With a lifelong curiosity about people and their stories, I am passionate about helping clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create lasting change that extends far beyond the therapy room.
